Unlocking the Spiritual Benefits of Your Umrah Journey

[Salman Arain / 20-03-2023]

Umrah is an act of spiritual worship that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) considers the most uplifting Sunnah for the soul. Thousands of pilgrims spiritually journey to Mecca to perform Umrah throughout the year. The blessings and benefits of Umrah are bestowed upon those who perform this spiritual ritual with good intentions. Muslims pray to Allah for forgiveness and blessings in exchange for their deadly sins. Following this sacred path for the sole purpose of performing umrah brings peace and contentment.

1. HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE THE HOLY GUEST OF THE SUPREME CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE:

Umrah grants you the honor of being a holy guest of the Sovereign Creator of the Universe, the King of All Universes. Therefore, the first and most delightful reward that pilgrims can receive through Umrah is that they will be guests of Allah Almighty, who will host the one who spends his time and wealth to please Allah Almighty with pure intentions. According to Hazrat Abu Huraira RA, the Prophet PBUH said:

“ALLAH HAS THREE GUESTS"

Ghazi (a warrior who fights in Jihad only for the sake of Allah), Hajji (a pilgrim performing Hajj), and Mu'tamir (a pilgrim conducting Umrah).

Hadith No. 2626, Book of Hajj Rites, Sunan An-Nasa'i, Vol. 3, Sunan An-Nasa'i.

I get chills at the thought of being a guest of Allah, but it was one of the most amazing experiences in the world. Travelers can feel a strange tranquility in themselves as soon as they arrive. So it is beneficial for him to achieve a sense of serenity, purity, cleanliness, and strange satisfaction in his soul, body, and spirit.

2. THE ABILITY TO REMOVE SINS:

All human beings are sinful by nature, but Umrah allows us to wash away our sins and cleanse our bodies and souls from the burden of past transgressions. So our beloved Holy Prophet PBUH, according to Hazrat Abu Huraira RA, said:

"From one Umrah to the next there is satisfaction for what happened before, and 'Hajj Al-Mabrur' offers no lesser reward than Heaven."

He protects us on Judgment Day by erasing every petty sin we committed before we venture into Umrah. As a result, the person is cleansed of all previous sins and feels as though they have been reborn with a sin-free mind and body. Furthermore, he allowed His creatures to ask for forgiveness, and instantly, He forgave His people. Therefore, we ask Him what He wants, and Umrah is the best method.

3. STRENGTHEN OUR EMAN:

In today's busy world, we commit many sins without even realizing it, weakening our faith over time. However, when a person performs Umrah with real and pure purpose only for the sake of Allah Almighty and performs all Umrah rituals without error, he will surely be closer to Allah. SWT. In addition to Umrah's many benefits, it helps performers strengthen their Eman. The strong Eman was the most worthy thing a believer could possess, and without it, he was no different from any other ordinary human. He must remember what makes him unique in this life and the next. That's his Eman. Therefore, we should work to strengthen our faith. We have written a blog on how to strengthen our Eman. You can read this blog for more information.

4. BRING BACK PHYSICAL STRENGTH:

The beauty of Islam is that it benefits you in every possible way, even if you do it for Allah Almighty, the Best Giver who gives you more than you deserve. When you do Umrah, it gives you strength and helps you to overcome physical ailments. As your mind becomes lighter, so does your body. Umrah improves our daily supply and nutrition while keeping our bodies healthy.

5. POVERTY ALLEVIATION:

Umrah is one of the most beautiful acts of worship and a wonderful Sunnah of our beloved Holy Prophet, so how could Allah SWT not be beneficial? Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

"Perform Hajj and Umrah in this order, for they cleanse poverty and sin as shouting cleanses iron."

We can clearly understand from this beautiful Hadith that performing Umrah is a source of hardship alleviation. Another benefit of Umrah is poverty alleviation, which we can achieve by following the Sunnah of the Prophet PBUH. Because pilgrims spend their money to ask for tolerance and please their Lord, Allah (SWT) blesses them richly. According to Islamic jurists, anyone financially and physically able must perform at least one Umrah in their lifetime, during or before the Hajj or any other time of the year. According to Hazrat Ayesha RA,

"Whoever destroys his house only because of Hajj or Umrah's stubbornness and dies, nothing will come to him, and he will not be held accountable on the Day of Judgment, and he will be informed. newspaper, enter Jannah."

6. REWARD COMPARABLE TO JIHAD:

Jihad is undoubtedly one of the highest activities in Islam, and only some have the opportunity to participate. Sacrifice is the reward of Jihad because it is an act of devotion and immense love. There is no active Jihad that Muslims can participate in modern times, but doing Umrah will give you the same rewards as Jihad.

The Messenger of Allah said:

The gift of Allah includes the soldier in the foundation of Allah, the pilgrim, and the performer of Umrah. He called them, and they answered, and they would seek his abdication, which he would approve.

On another occasion, Mr. PBUH said:

"Hajj and Umrah are holy wars of old people, children, the weak and women."

The excellent Hadith reminds us that those not strong enough to perform Umrah will receive a double reward.
